Loney Dear is one of my favorite artists I’ve stumbled across recently. There’s something in the simplicity of this song that makes it so wonderful. It screams summer nights and moonlight to me.

This is probably one of the most haunting songs I’ve ever heard. I wouldn’t expect anything else from The National.

The song is Myth. The album is Bloom. The band is Beach House. That’s all that needs to be said.

45
by The Gaslight Anthem

So many songs have been released today, and I have no complaints about The Gaslight Anthem’s “45” capping it off. Brian Fallon is an excellent songwriter, and it’s nice to get some new material from him.

I have so much faith in this band. If you haven’t checked them out already, consider this your invitation.

Happy Record Store Day! Hope everyone made out as well as I did.

For whatever reason, not enough people talk about Gene Clark. While his work with The Byrds is worth admiring, his solo work is definitely a project to spend time with. I was thrilled to find One In A Hundred and She’s The Kind Of Girl getting a 7” release for Record Store Day this year.

  • Only You

Only You

There’s something undeniably good about this song. I can’t exactly put my finger on why I love it so much, but I can’t go a day without listening to this.

  • How

How
by Maroon 5

This is actually one of my favorite Maroon 5 songs. The melody is impeccable and Adam’s voice sounds great. Once I listen to How once, I end up going back to it five or six more times.

Cough Syrup
by Young The Giant

I’m revisiting Young The Giant today because, well, why the fuck not? I remember back when they were The Jakes and they released Shake My Hand EP. This song was the immediate stand out. Now, as Young The Giant, this song is everywhere. It’s been a great road for them, and I’m so excited to see where they go next.
